Peñalara Coping 15 cm: what it is
It's the narrow version of the handrail in the Peñalara collection: 50 × 15 × 8 cm and 10.5 kg per piece. Weighing four and a half kilos less than the wide coping, it can be carried and set by hand on jobs with no hoist or platform, which is why it's chosen for balconies, roof terraces and renovations with difficult access. It closes off the top of the row of balusters and turns it into one solid run.

🧰 Installation
Wait until the row of balusters is plumb and the bedding mortar has set.
Dry-lay the coping over the whole run and decide where the cuts fall.
Check that the dowel heads line up with the piece's holes.
Bed each coping piece on bonding mortar spread over the whole contact surface.
Line up the visible face with a taut string from end to end of the run.
Point the joints once the whole run has set.

💡 Professional tip: at 15 cm wide, the overhang past the baluster is short, so run-off water stays close to the piece and over time leaves streaks on the visible face. If the enclosure is very exposed to rain, apply a colourless water repellent to the coping and balusters once everything has cured: it saves an annual clean and doesn't change the tone.
