Peñalara Baluster 50 cm - Choice of Square or Ø 13 cm Round Shaft

Peñalara Baluster 50 cm: what it is

It's the mid height in the Peñalara collection and the only one offered with two different bases: a 13 × 13 cm square or a Ø 13 cm round. The square base sits better on narrow wall copings; the round one gives a softer look when the balustrade is seen from several angles. Both are made with no internal reinforcement, by high compaction, so there's no steel to rust and split the piece.

✅ Key advantages

  • Two bases to choose from: a 13 × 13 cm square or a Ø 13 cm round, both at the same 50 cm height.
  • No internal reinforcement: nothing to rust and crack the shaft over the years.
  • High compaction: a dense mass, fewer pores and better behaviour against rainwater.
  • A compromise height: 50 cm gives the balustrade presence without blocking the view over the wall.
  • Compatible with the rest of the collection: the same cap, wedge and dowel as the other heights.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Capping plot enclosure walls.
  • Terrace and porch parapets.
  • Landscaped dividers and path edges.
  • Decorative balustrades at entrances and grand staircases.

📋 Technical data sheet

  • Dimensions available: 13 × 13 × 50 cm (square base) and Ø 13 × 50 cm (round base).
  • Material: high-compaction precast concrete, no reinforcement.
  • Colour: white.
  • Units per pallet, square base: 98.
  • Units per pallet, round base: 64.
  • Anchor: galvanised dowel, 40 × Ø 0.6 cm.
  • Use: indoor and outdoor.

🧰 Installation

  1. Level and clean the top of the wall before setting out.
  2. Mark the spacing between centres end to end of the run, not piece by piece.
  3. Drill and fit the galvanised dowel at each marked point.
  4. Bed the baluster on a pat of bonding mortar, threading it onto the dowel through the lower hole.
  5. Plumb each piece and check the run with a string line before the mortar starts to grab.
  6. Fit the top cap and point the joints once the assembly has set.

📦 Available formats

  • 13 × 13 × 50 cm, single unit or pallet of 98.
  • Ø 13 × 50 cm, single unit or pallet of 64.

💡 Professional tip: decide on the base before ordering, because square and round don't mix well in the same run: the bedding joint looks different and the cap doesn't sit the same way. If the wall has less than 20 cm of coping, go for the square base: the round one leaves less contact area with the mortar and the piece rocks until it sets.
