Aracena Flat Baluster - Contemporary Straight Profile for Fences and Balconies

Aracena Flat Baluster: what it is

It's a concrete baluster with a flat section, 33 cm wide, designed for anyone who wants a balustrade without the traditional vase-shaped turning. The piece is wide and thin in profile, so the run reads as a series of vertical panels: it keeps the classic logic of the enclosure but with a much more restrained look, suiting both new builds and straight-line renovations.

✅ Key advantages

  • Contemporary look: the alternative when a turned baluster clashes with a modern façade.
  • 33 cm wide per piece: covers more linear metres with fewer units than a narrow-shaft baluster.
  • Two thicknesses, 8 and 10 cm: the 8 cm gives a slimmer look; the 10 cm adds more body and shadow to the run.
  • Around 12 kg per piece: manageable by hand for balcony or terrace jobs with no vehicle access.
  • Standard white: a uniform finish across both thicknesses, with no tone difference between them.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Plot fences and straight-line garden enclosures.
  • Balcony and terrace parapets.
  • Dividers between landscaped areas.
  • Decorative enclosures at new-build entrances and porches.

📋 Technical data sheet

  • Dimensions available: 33 × 8 × 60 cm and 33 × 10 × 60 cm.
  • Weight per unit: 11.9 kg for the 8 cm thickness and 12.3 kg for the 10 cm.
  • Material: precast concrete.
  • Colour: white.
  • Units per pallet: 90, for both sizes.
  • Use: indoor and outdoor.

🧰 Installation

  1. Check that the top of the wall is level and free of dust.
  2. Dry-lay the run: being wide pieces, the spacing between them shows far more than with a narrow baluster.
  3. Mark the centres and make sure the two end pieces match.
  4. Bed each baluster on a pat of bonding mortar and plumb it in both directions: the wide face shows up any lean.
  5. Check the run's alignment with a string line at mid-height before the mortar starts to grab.
  6. Fit the wall coping or top cap and point the joints once the run has set.

📦 Available formats

  • 33 × 8 × 60 cm, single unit or pallet of 90 units.
  • 33 × 10 × 60 cm, single unit or pallet of 90 units.

💡 Professional tip: don't mix the two thicknesses in the same run. On paper the difference between 8 and 10 cm looks negligible, but against the light the shadows change and the panel looks uneven. Pick one thickness for the whole job and order the full quantity from a single batch: that also avoids tone shifts between production runs.
