Encina Wall Block - dry-stone look with Z-shaped interlock
Encina Wall Block: concrete with a dry-stacked stone look
Building a natural stone wall calls for a stonemason, time and budget. The Encina Wall Block achieves the same look with a precast concrete piece laid at a rate of 14 pieces per m² that reproduces the appearance of dry-stacked stone, with no visible mortar joints.
✅ Key advantages
Z-shaped interlock: the piece's geometry keys into place by simple contact, guiding each course and speeding up construction compared with traditional masonry.
Dry-stone look: irregular texture and layout, without the repeating pattern that gives away cheap precast pieces.
Complete system: the 59 × 10 × 14 cm block is finished off with the 47.5 × 12 × 4 cm wall cap and the 11 × 10 × 7 cm short piece for corners and wall ends.
Three factory tones: Albero, Caliza and Pirineos, colored throughout, not just on the surface.
Weather-resistant: vibrated concrete that withstands frost, rain and sun exposure.
Units/pallet: 60 for the 47.5 × 12 × 4 cm format and 45 for the 59 × 10 × 14 cm format.
🧰 Installation
Build a level, continuous concrete footing and let it cure before starting to build up.
Dry-lay the first course from corner to corner and fit the short pieces where needed.
Bed each course with decorative masonry joint mortar, using the Z-shaped lip as a guide.
Mix pieces from different pallets to spread out tone variation and avoid color patches.
Cap the wall with the wall-cap piece, giving it a slight slope towards the outside.
Clean off fresh mortar residue with a damp sponge before it hardens.
📦 Available formats
59 × 10 × 14 cm — single unit or pallet of 45 units.
47.5 × 12 × 4 cm (wall cap) — single unit or pallet of 60 units.
11 × 10 × 7 cm — single unit.
💡 Professional tip: the most common mistake is finishing the wall with the cap piece perfectly level. Give it a 1-2 cm fall towards the outside: if water sits on top of the coping it eventually seeps through the joint, and with the first frost it cracks the mortar. Also allow for 5% extra pieces for cuts and corners.
