Manzanares Pillar - Pure Lines and Rounded Edge for Enclosures

Manzanares Pillar: what it is

The Manzanares pillar is the enclosure piece for anyone after a contemporary design: pure, fine lines with a slightly rounded edge, a detail that softens the corner and highlights the pillar's continuity from top to bottom.

✅ Key advantages

  • Rounded edge: the softened corner removes the sharp arris and gives the sense of a continuous piece, not stacked blocks.
  • Texture related to the Peñafiel: shares character with the marble-finish pillar, so the two can be combined in the same enclosure.
  • Four colours: white, sand, anthracite and anthracite black, including dark tones hard to find in precast.
  • Two sections: 30 × 30 cm for light fences and 40 × 40 cm for gate piers.
  • Stack assembly: piece on piece, with no formwork or later cladding.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Pillars for fences and plot enclosures.
  • Piers for hinged and sliding gates.
  • Buttresses and reinforcements in garden walls.
  • Bases for pergolas, porches and decorative outdoor structures.
  • Minimalist-line enclosures in new builds and renovations.

📋 Technical data sheet

  • Material: precast concrete.
  • Design: pure, fine lines with a slightly rounded edge.
  • Dimensions: 30 × 30 × 17.1 cm and 40 × 40 × 17.1 cm.
  • Colours available: white, sand, anthracite and anthracite black.
  • Units per pallet (30 × 30 × 17.1 cm): 72 units.
  • Units per pallet (40 × 40 × 17.1 cm): 48 units.
  • Note: the anthracite black colour is only supplied in the 30 × 30 cm section.

🧰 Installation

  1. Cast a level concrete footing and leave reinforcement starter bars on the pillar's axis.
  2. Bed the first piece on fresh mortar and check level and plumb in both directions.
  3. Stack the following pieces, threading the reinforcement through the central void and checking plumb every two courses.
  4. Fill the central void with flowing concrete in lifts, without filling the whole pillar at once.
  5. Let it set before hanging the gate or tying in the fence panel.
  6. Cap it with a pillar cap with a drip edge to protect the top of the pillar.

📦 Available formats

  • 30 × 30 × 17.1 cm — white, sand, anthracite or anthracite black — single unit or pallet of 72.
  • 40 × 40 × 17.1 cm — white, sand or anthracite — single unit or pallet of 48.

💡 Professional tip: with the dark tones, don't fill the central void in one go. Flowing concrete pushes upward, seeps through the joints and leaves the grey cement wash marked on the anthracite; afterwards not even acid gets it off. Fill in lifts of three or four courses and clean off every spill while fresh with a damp sponge.
