Sikafloor®-169 Professional Aggregate Resin

Sikafloor®-169: Professional Resin for Aggregate Flooring

The Sikafloor®-169 is not a conventional epoxy resin; it is a high transparency and low viscosity binder specifically designed to work in combination with decorative aggregates. When mixed with the right aggregates, the result is a continuous flooring with extreme mechanical strength and a "Premium" level aesthetic.

⚠️ Important Note about Aggregates

For a resin and stone system to work, the aggregate must be fully washed and oven dry.

It is essential to note that the gravels and pebbles standard for sale at Vetonek.com have not undergone the required technical washing and drying process for this application. Using aggregates with moisture or dust will cause the resin to fail.

We supply washed and dried aggregates exclusively on request. If you wish to undertake a project with Sikafloor®-169, contact us to quote the technical aggregate specifically prepared for this application.

Sikafloor®-169: One product, three decorative systems

The versatility of this binder allows for different finishes depending on the type of aggregate and the finishing process:

System Visual Finish Use of Stone Resin Consumption (% of aggregate weight)
Sikafloor® Terrazzo Polished and Smooth: Continuous surface with a mirror effect. Gravels that are cut when polished. ~ 8% to 10%
Sikafloor® DecoDur Fine Granulated: Antislip texture and aesthetic. Colored quartz or fine sands. ~ 5% to 7%
Stone Carpet Porous / Visible: Whole stone with natural texture. Pebbles (White, Yellow, etc). ~ 4% to 6%

Application Summary:

  • Terrazzo: The resin and stone mixture is poured and then polished with diamond until the surface is flat and shiny.

  • DecoDur: The resin is applied and saturated with fine quartz to create an ultra-resistant and colorful flooring.

  • Stone Carpet: The resin is mixed with clean and dry gravel (3-6mm or 6-9mm) and spread with a trowel. The pore is left open to allow drainage and showcase the natural shape of the stone.

What can be created with this system?

  • Continuous Terrazzo Floors: Ideal for hotels, airports, and corporate headquarters due to their durability and easy cleaning.

  • DecoDur Systems (Colored Quartz): Perfect for high resistance decorative floors with a homogeneous color distribution.

  • Crystal Sealing Layers: Acts as an epoxy varnish that enhances the natural shine of the stone and protects it against wear and chemicals.

  • Stone Carpets for Interiors: Offers superior hardness indoors, creating sophisticated surfaces that are ultra-resistant to intense pedestrian traffic.

Highlighted Technical Benefits

  • Non-Yellowing Transparency: Its advanced formula protects the original color of the stones (especially whites and light tones), keeping them bright for years.

  • Low Emissions (Low VOC): Complies with the strictest environmental regulations, allowing safe application in enclosed spaces (stores, museums, homes).

  • Superior Mechanical Resistance: Designed for areas with constant traffic; withstands frequent use without losing adhesion.

  • Hygiene and Sealing: By closing the pore (in sealed systems), it creates a surface that is easy to disinfect, ideal for sanitary or food sectors.

Why trust Vetonek for your resin system?

Most failures in resin flooring occur due to using aggregates with moisture or dust. At Vetonek, although we do not have these aggregates in open stock on the web, we specialize in supplying washed and oven-dried gravel on request, ready to mix directly with Sikafloor®-169.

Avoid technical risks: Combine the best Sika chemistry with technical advice and the right aggregate.
