The 10 bar are more important than they seem. Between hose pressure loss, the regulator filter, and the margin the pressure switch needs so it is not starting nonstop, if the compressor only reaches 8 bar you end up working at 5.5 at the nozzle. Starting from 10 bar gives you a buffer for the entire system.

💡 Professional tip: do not rigidly anchor the compressor to the floor thinking it will vibrate less. With the feet bolted to concrete, the vibration is transmitted throughout the whole workshop and the tank welds are subjected to fatigue. Put anti-vibration rubber pads under it and let the unit rest on them: it lasts longer and is quieter.
