Jara Path Slab - Stone Texture for Garden Paths

Jara Path Slab: concrete paving with a stone texture

Crossing the lawn in the same spot always ends up leaving a muddy strip. The Jara Path Slab solves that crossing point with a 48 × 36 × 3.5 cm, 8.65 kg piece with a stone-like texture, laid straight onto the ground with no need for a footing.

✅ Key advantages

  • Stone texture: an irregular surface that avoids the flat look of ordinary concrete paving.
  • No groundwork needed: rests on a compacted sand base, with no footing or specialised labour.
  • Four colours: Grey, Beige, Anthracite Black and Bronze, to blend with existing paving.
  • Manageable format: 8.65 kg per piece, layable by one person.
  • Matches the Jara kerb: the same aesthetic family for path and edge.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Paths and stepping routes over lawn or soil.
  • Seating areas and small garden terraces.
  • Access to a tool shed or washing line area.
  • Stepping paths between beds and planted areas.
  • Capping pool edges in low-traffic areas.

🧰 Installation

  1. Mark out the route and check the natural stride length by walking it before digging.
  2. Remove about 8 cm of soil in the footprint of each slab.
  3. Spread 4 cm of fine crushed sand or aggregate and compact it.
  4. Bed the slab, tapping with a rubber mallet until it sits 1 cm below the level of the lawn.
  5. Backfill the edges with soil or fine aggregate and water to settle it.

📦 Available formats

  • 48 × 36 × 3.5 cm in Beige — single unit or pallet of 68 units.
  • 48 × 36 × 3.5 cm in Black — single unit or pallet of 68 units.
  • 48 × 36 × 3.5 cm in Bronze — single unit or pallet of 68 units.

💡 Professional tip: leave the slab one centimetre below the level of the lawn, never above. If it sticks up, the mower hits it on every pass, chips the edge and ruins the blade. And space the pieces about 55-60 cm apart centre to centre: that's an adult's natural stride, and it avoids the forced short step that ruins even the nicest-looking path.
