Real wood outdoors cracks, splinters and loses color from rain and sun, needing sanding and treating every couple of years. This slab reproduces the natural grain of wood boards with a high-strength single-layer finish manufactured to European standard UNE 1339, giving you the warmth of wood without any of its upkeep.

Compact the ground and spread a 10-15 cm sub-base of crushed gravel.
Level a 3-5 cm sand bed with a slope towards the drain.
Decide the grain direction before you start and mark it with a string line.
Lay the pieces alternating the grain direction to avoid a repeating pattern.
Bed with a rubber mallet, leaving an open joint of 3-5 mm.
Fill the joints with silica sand and sweep off the excess.

💡 Professional tip: the grain on these slabs comes from a limited number of molds, so if you lay them all facing the same way the pattern repeats and looks fake within a few meters. Rotate the pieces 90° or 180° at random as you go; it costs no extra time and makes a huge difference to the result.
