Ordesa Decorative Molding - Elegant Trim for Façades and Cladding

Ordesa Decorative Molding: concrete trim for façade edges

Cladding or render that just stops in mid-air leaves the edge exposed: a dirty line where water gets in and where the finish starts to lift. Ordesa Decorative Molding closes off that edge with a piece measuring 50 × 12 × 2.5 cm and weighing 3.4 kg, weather-resistant and available in Caliza and Pirineos.

✅ Key advantages

  • Clean finish: covers the edge of the cladding, render or stucco and gives the façade a continuous horizontal line.
  • Protects the edge: the profile projects over the surface and keeps water away from the most exposed joint.
  • Weather-resistant: solid concrete that keeps its shape and tone through rain and sun.
  • Manageable piece: 3.4 kg and half a meter long, can be fitted by a single person.
  • Two colors: Caliza and Pirineos, the same tones as our stone-imitation cladding.
  • 50 cm module: makes setting out by linear meter easy, with two pieces per meter.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Top edge of clad plinths
  • String courses and floor-separation lines
  • Surrounds for windows and doors
  • Coping for garden low walls and fencing
  • Transition between cladding and a rendered or stuccoed wall
  • Rustic interiors: cornice for a living room, cellar or fireplace surround

🧰 Installation

  1. Set out the molding's line with a laser level or string before bonding anything: a crooked string course shows from the street.
  2. Clean and lightly dampen the substrate and dry-fit the pieces to work out the end cuts.
  3. Bond with exterior-grade tile adhesive and double buttering, giving a slight outward slope so water runs off.
  4. Rest each piece against the previous one leaving a 3 to 5 mm joint and shim with wedges until the adhesive grips.
  5. Grout with joint mortar and seal the top junction with the wall using flexible sealant.
  6. Clean off residue with a damp sponge and apply a colorless water repellent to the visible face.

  • 50 × 12 × 2.5 cm — Pirineos — single unit or pallet of 4 units

💡 Professional tip: if you don't give the molding at least a slight outward slope when bonding it, water sits on the top face and ends up getting into the joint with the wall: within two winters you'll have staining and it will come loose. Two or three millimeters of fall for every 12 cm of projection is enough, and always finish the top junction with flexible sealant, never rigid mortar.
