Más información sobre Decorative pillars and blocks

The decorative pillars and blocks in precast concrete are used to build enclosures, fences and walls with smooth, carved, marble, brick or natural-stone finishes, and are completed with pier caps, capitals and columns.

Types of decorative pillars and blocks

  • Pillars: hollow pieces that stack, such as the Loarre pillar with a carved texture or the Peñafiel pillar in an anthracite marble finish.
  • Matching blocks: blocks such as the smooth-faced Bellver block, which share the finish of their pillar.
  • Pier caps and capitals: the flat pier cap with drip edge, the double-flat, the diamond-point and the concrete capital.
  • Columns, bases and capitals: columns such as the Arnedillo column, base-capitals and bases.
  • Pillar finishes: fluted relief, brick, rubble masonry or natural-stone look, and a stainless steel pillar trim.

How to choose pillars and blocks

  • Choose the finish and keep the same model for pillar and block so the wall looks uniform.
  • Check the available section and colour on each pillar's product sheet.
  • Measure the pillar, not the fence, to choose a pier cap with a suitable overhang.
  • Foundations, reinforcement and filling of the central cavity are for the project technician to define.

Frequently asked questions

What is a precast concrete pillar?

It is a hollow concrete piece that is stacked on a foundation, reinforced through the central cavity and filled to form the pillar of an enclosure or fence.

What sizes are the Loarre and Peñafiel pillars?

Both come in sections of 30 × 30 × 17.1 cm and 40 × 40 × 17.1 cm, by the unit or by the pallet. Colours vary by model, so check its product sheet.

What is a pier cap with a drip edge for?

It finishes the top of the pillar, and the drip edge cuts the water off before it runs down the pillar. The flat pier cap comes in 28 × 28, 40 × 40 and 50 × 50 cm.

Can I combine pillars and blocks from different models?

The simplest option is to use the same model, because pillar and block share finish and colour, as with Loarre, Bellver or Peñafiel. That keeps the wall uniform.

Do I need reinforcement in the pillar?

The product sheets describe assembly with reinforcement threaded through the central cavity and a concrete fill. The project technician must define foundations and reinforcement according to height and use.
