Bellver Pillar - Smooth Face for Enclosure Walls and Fences

Bellver Pillar: what it is

The Bellver pillar is the smooth-faced piece for building walls and fences with an impeccable finish and simple installation. It's built by stacking on the footing and is left exposed straight off the pallet, with no rendering or paint.

✅ Key advantages

  • Smooth face with no open pores: a regular surface, ready to be left exposed with no cladding.
  • Three sections: 22.5, 30 and 40 cm, to match the pillar to the actual load it needs to carry.
  • Lightweight piece: 8.7 kg in the 22.5 cm format, manageable by hand all day.
  • Complete system: shares its finish and course height with the Bellver block.
  • Two compatible caps: flat pillar cap or diamond-point pillar cap, both with a drip edge.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Pillars for enclosure walls and perimeter fencing.
  • Piers for hinged and sliding gates.
  • Buttresses and reinforcements in garden walls.
  • Bases for pergolas, porches and outdoor structures.
  • Intermediate posts in panel and railing fences.

📋 Technical data sheet

  • Weight (22.5 × 22.5 × 17.1 cm): 8.7 kg.
  • Colours available: white and beige.
  • Units per pallet (22.5 × 22.5 × 17.1 cm): 72 units.
  • Units per pallet (30 × 30 × 17.1 cm): 72 units.
  • Units per pallet (40 × 40 × 17.1 cm): 48 units.

🧰 Installation

  1. Cast a level footing and leave reinforcement starter bars centred on the pillar's axis.
  2. Bed the first piece on fresh mortar and check level, plumb and square.
  3. Stack the rest, threading the reinforcement through the central void, with consistent joint thickness.
  4. Fill the central void with flowing concrete in lifts of three or four courses.
  5. Remove excess mortar while fresh: on a smooth face, cement-wash marks show up far more.
  6. Cap it with the flat or diamond-point concrete pillar cap, always with a drip edge.

📦 Available formats

  • 40 × 40 × 17.1 cm — white or beige — single unit or pallet of 48.
  • 30 × 30 × 17.1 cm — white or beige — single unit or pallet of 72.
  • 22.5 × 22.5 × 17.1 cm — white or beige — single unit or pallet of 72.

💡 Professional tip: don't use the 22.5 cm section to hang a gate. It's a companion pillar, meant for intermediate posts and low-wall ends; as soon as you fit an iron gate to it, the hinge bolt levers against a wall just a few centimetres thick, and the first course ends up cracked. For gates, use the 40 × 40 cm section with reinforcement and infill.
