🧰 Installation
Cast a level footing and leave reinforcement starter bars on the pillar's axis.
Bed the first piece on fresh mortar and check level, plumb and square.
Mix pieces from several pallets: on a masonry finish, tone variation is part of the effect, but it pays to spread it out.
Stack the pieces, threading the reinforcement through the central void, and check plumb every two courses.
Fill the central void with flowing concrete in lifts.
Cap it with the dry-stone pillar cap, leaving an even overhang on all four sides.

💡 Professional tip: on masonry pieces, don't force the joint down to zero. The irregular relief means two pieces never fit perfectly flush; try to close the gap tight and by the fourth course the pillar ends up out of plumb. Work with a consistent joint of around 5 mm, filled and struck flush, and check plumb with a straightedge, not by eye.
