Pedraza Step - solid 10 cm step for gardens, entrances and paths

Pedraza Step: the step that finishes off the paving

When a garden path needs to overcome a level change, the usual solution is to improvise a step out of whatever's on hand, and it ends up clashing with the rest of the paving. This step is designed specifically to complement the paving slabs in the same collection: it's a solid piece measuring 45 × 35 × 10 cm and weighing 34.8 kg that stays put under its own weight and shares the same three tones as the slabs.

✅ Key advantages

  • Solid 10 cm piece: its own weight keeps it in place, it won't shift underfoot.
  • Matches the paving: the same colors as the collection's slabs, with no jump in tone.
  • Easy to install: it rests on a prepared base, with no formwork or reinforcement needed.
  • Durable materials: withstands continuous outdoor use.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Level changes on garden paths and walkways.
  • Entrance steps to a home.
  • Stepping down slopes and terraced beds.
  • Access to porches and raised terraces.

📋 Technical specifications

  • Dimensions: 45 × 35 × 10 cm.
  • Thickness: 10 cm.
  • Weight: 34.8 kg per piece.
  • Colors: pirineos, caliza and albero.
  • Units per pallet: 10.

🧰 Installation

  1. Set out the whole staircase and distribute the height evenly across all the steps.
  2. Excavate and compact the seating for each step.
  3. Spread a 3-4 cm mortar bed over the compacted base.
  4. Bed the piece with two people: it weighs almost 35 kg and isn't easy to handle alone.
  5. Check the level and give a slight reverse fall towards the outside.
  6. Backfill the sides with compacted soil or with slabs from the same collection.

📦 Available formats

  • 45 × 35 × 10 cm in pirineos.
  • 45 × 35 × 10 cm in caliza.
  • 45 × 35 × 10 cm in albero.
  • Sold by unit or by pallet of 10 units.

💡 Professional tip: at 34.8 kg per piece and 45 cm across the front, the most common mistake is fitting them one by one as they arrive, only to discover at the end that the staircase has one step at a different height. Mark out every height with a string line before moving the first piece, and plan for two people to bed each one: handled alone it can drop and chip the edge.
