🧰 Installation

  1. Clean and compact the supporting surface, removing roots and loose soil.
  2. Mark out the position of the joists and where each support will go.
  3. Place the supports and check they sit fully flat on the ground.
  4. Combine the two sizes to absorb variations in the ground level.
  5. Check the plane with a long straightedge in both directions before fixing the joists.
  6. Fit the decking onto the now-level structure.

💡 Professional tip: the support levels, but it doesn't replace a firm base. If you set it on freshly disturbed soil or on grass, within two winters it will sink and the decking will develop a wave in the middle. Compact the support point thoroughly, or better still, place a small slab under each support to spread the load.
