Cazorla Coping 25 cm - Handrail With Twin Anchor Hole at Each End

Cazorla Coping 25 cm: what it is

It's the handrail in the Cazorla collection, the piece that crowns the widest-section balusters. It measures 50 × 25 × 12 cm and weighs 30 kg, and what sets it apart is that it has two holes at each end for the dowels to pass through: the coping doesn't just rest on mortar, it's pinned to the baluster and to the adjoining piece.

✅ Key advantages

  • Twin hole at each end: through anchoring with a dowel, not just bearing on mortar.
  • 25 cm wide: generous overhang that keeps rainwater clear of the balusters below.
  • 12 cm thick: a robust section that gives a strong crowning line.
  • 30 kg per piece: its own mass helps stabilise the run.
  • 50 cm long: two pieces per linear metre, direct measuring.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Capping large-section balustrades on plot fences.
  • Handrails for terraces and continuous balconies.
  • Railings for grand staircases and main entrances.
  • Classic-style enclosures in renovation work.

🧰 Installation

  1. Wait until the row of balusters is plumb and the bedding mortar has set.
  2. Dry-lay the run and decide where the cuts fall, ideally next to a pillar.
  3. Thread the 55 × Ø 0.8 cm dowels through the end holes, checking they line up with the baluster heads.
  4. Bed each piece on bonding mortar spread over the whole contact surface.
  5. At 30 kg per piece, fit with two workers: a corner that slips can chip the baluster below.
  6. Line up the visible face with a string line and point the joints once the run has set.

📦 Available formats

  • Single unit, 50 × 25 × 12 cm.
  • Full pallet of 48 units (1,455 kg).

💡 Professional tip: the end holes only line up if the dowel positions were marked with the coping piece in hand. Mark the pin positions by holding a real piece over the first two balusters, not by measuring off a drawing: a one-centimetre error and the coping won't thread on, and at 30 kg there's no forcing it without breaking something.
