Dry-Stone Pillar Cap - End Piece for Turégano and Ponferrada Pillars

Dry-Stone Pillar Cap: what it is

This pillar cap is the purpose-made end piece for the Turégano and Ponferrada pillars. It reproduces the look of paving or dry stone with a lightly textured surface, so the top doesn't break the pillar's look and the whole thing reads as a single piece of masonry.

✅ Key advantages

  • Visual continuity: the same texture and colour family as the Turégano and Ponferrada pillars, with no tone jump at the top.
  • Dry-stone texture: a lightly rough surface that hides weathering dirt better than a polished finish.
  • Two sizes: 40 × 40 × 6 cm and 50 × 50 × 7 cm, for capping 30 and 40 cm pillars with a perimeter overhang.
  • Two organic colours: champagne and pirineos, both designed to blend into landscaped settings.
  • Finish and protection: the piece closes the top of the pillar and stops water getting in through the top joint.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Capping masonry pillars in plot enclosures.
  • Capping gate and entrance piers.
  • Finishing buttresses in garden walls.
  • Landscaping projects with a natural stone finish.
  • Capping pillars for porches and built pergolas.

🧰 Installation

  1. Finish the pillar with the last course flush, and let the mortar cure before capping it.
  2. Clean the top of the pillar and check it's level in both directions.
  3. Dry-fit the piece and spread the overhang evenly on all four sides.
  4. Apply concrete-paver adhesive in interior beads and bed the piece without hammering it.
  5. Adjust the level with a rubber mallet and remove any material that spills over the edge while fresh.
  6. Seal the perimeter joint only if the project requires it, and always with a flexible, breathable product.

📦 Available formats

  • 50 × 50 × 7 cm — champagne or pirineos — single unit or pallet of 10.
  • 40 × 40 × 6 cm — champagne or pirineos — single unit or pallet of 16.

💡 Professional tip: with textured pieces it pays to open two or three pallets and mix them before installing. The champagne and pirineos tones vary slightly between batches, and if you cap a whole fence from one pallet and then replace two pieces from another, the difference shows from the street.
