The octagonal terracotta floor of village houses, in maintenance-free porcelain. Matera is a collection of 20x20 cm octagonal tiles with the warm, shade-varied look of fired clay, in six tones —sand, beige, natural, snow, grey and graphite— plus two multicolour decorated versions. It is finished with 4x4 corner inserts for the classic octagonal pattern of old.
Unlike traditional terracotta, it does not absorb stains or need treatments: it is frost-resistant porcelain stoneware, perfect for rustic kitchens, country houses, porches and terraces. The shade-varied finish makes each piece slightly different, like authentic clay.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it authentic fired clay?
It is porcelain stoneware with the shade-varied look of fired clay, but without its problems: it doesn't absorb stains, needs no treatments or waxes and withstands frost, so it also works outdoors.
How are the corner dot inserts laid?
The octagonal shape leaves a small square gap between pieces where a decorative 4x4 cm insert goes, usually in a contrasting color. The inserts are supplied to order: contact us and we'll prepare a quote along with the boxes.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. It is frost-resistant porcelain, widely used in porches, terraces and courtyards of country houses.
How many boxes do I need?
Each box contains 25 octagonal pieces covering 0.96 m². Add 10% for cuts: for 15 m², order 18 boxes.
Why does each piece have a slightly different tone?
It's intentional: the shade-varied finish imitates the natural variation of handcrafted fired clay. When laying, mix pieces from several boxes for an even, natural result.
What suits me better, boxes or a full pallet?
For renovations, 0.96 m² boxes. For construction work from ~77 m², the full pallet (80 boxes) has the best price per m² and arrives palletized in a single delivery.
