Duero Stone-Effect Wall Coping: a natural-looking finish

A coping with an industrial finish looks out of place on a stone or masonry wall, and if it has no drip edge either, water runs straight down the wall, leaving stains. The Duero Stone-Effect Wall Coping combines both fixes: a natural stone texture on the visible face and a drip edge with grooves every 30.5 cm on the underside.

🧰 Installation

  1. Level the top of the wall and remove any mortar residue.
  2. Open several pallets and mix pieces: this spreads the veining so you don't get patches of a single tone.
  3. Spread flexible bonding mortar over the entire bearing surface.
  4. Bed each slab with symmetric overhang and level with a rubber mallet.
  5. Leave a 3-5 mm joint and point with a similarly toned elastic mortar.
  6. Clean while fresh with a damp sponge, paying attention to the textured areas.

💡 Professional tip: on stone-effect pieces, the tone varies from one pallet to another. Never cap one stretch of wall from a single pallet and the next stretch from another: the line shows from ten metres away. Open two or three pallets at once and alternate pieces as you go. And allow for 5% extra, because at 19 kg per unit, chips on delivery are more common than you'd think.
