Velilla 588 healthcare scrub top: the same top, but with long sleeves
The long-sleeve version of the white healthcare scrub top, in 190 g/m² polyester-cotton twill. V-neck, side vents and three patch pockets, one of them on the chest. It is sold on its own: the price is for the top only. If you need short sleeves, the reference is 587.

Wash at 60 °C. With no elastane or finishes, it withstands the industrial cycle well.
The 65% polyester provides good dimensional stability.
Tumble dry and iron at medium temperature.
Chlorine-free optical brightener; bleach yellows white polyester.
Suitable for industrial laundering.
💡 Tip: Before ordering long sleeves for a healthcare team, check the facility's hand hygiene protocol. If staff have direct patient contact, the usual rule is bare forearms below the elbow, and long sleeves mean rolling them up at every handwash, which in practice nobody does. The 588 is a better fit for cleaning, warehousing, food and laboratory work, where that requirement does not apply and the sleeve offers more protection.

How does it differ from the 587?
Only in the sleeves and the size range. The 587 has short sleeves and ranges from 2XS to 4XL. This 588 has long sleeves and ranges from XS to 3XL.
When are long sleeves a good choice?
In professional cleaning, warehousing, cold rooms, the food industry and laboratories, where protecting the forearm matters and there is no constant handwashing.
Can I use it on a hospital ward?
Only if the facility's protocol allows it. The usual rule for direct patient contact is bare forearms below the elbow, and there the short-sleeve 587 is the right choice.
Does it withstand industrial washing at 90 degrees?
The manufacturer specifies 60 °C. With no elastane or finishes, it withstands a harsh cycle well, but the white suffers above 60 °C.
Can it be autoclave sterilised?
No. The polyester-cotton blend is not approved for autoclaving.
Can I use bleach?
No. Chlorine yellows white polyester irreversibly.
