Legazpi clay infill block for floor slabs

Lighter floor slabs and ceilings ready for plastering

The Vetonek Legazpi clay infill block (hollow pot) is the infill piece for one-way floor slabs with precast joists. It lightens the slab, insulates better than a concrete infill block and gives the ceiling plaster a good key. Made for builders and developers.

✅ Advantages

  • Lighter slab: pieces from 9 to 16.3 kg that cut the dead load compared with other infill solutions.
  • Better insulation: clay insulates better than a concrete infill block.
  • No surprises on the ceiling: the clay surface gives plaster a good key and reduces adhesion problems.
  • Six sizes: 60 or 70 cm joist spacing and 17, 22 and 25 cm depths to match the design of each slab.
  • Easy to place by hand: 25 cm long and a manageable weight, laid piece by piece on the joists.

🏗️ Applications

  • One-way joist-and-block floor slabs in housing.
  • Intermediate floors, roof slabs and ventilated ground floors.
  • Extensions and refurbishments with a new floor slab.

🧰 Installation

  1. Place and prop the joists as specified in the project, at the spacing of the chosen infill block.
  2. Rest the infill blocks on the joists, well seated and butted tightly against each other.
  3. Close off the ends and gaps and place the distribution and top reinforcement specified.
  4. Wet the pieces and pour the concrete topping.
  5. Respect the curing and propping-removal times set by the site engineer.

💡 Vetonek tip: Choose spacing and depth according to the slab calculation; with that size you will know exactly how many pieces and kilos arrive on site.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do the infill block sizes mean, for example 60 x 22 x 25?

60 cm is the distance between joist centres (spacing), 22 cm is the depth and 25 cm is the length of the piece.

Which infill block depth should I choose?

The depth is set by the slab calculation in the project. Depths of 17, 22 and 25 cm are available for both 60 and 70 cm spacing.

How many infill blocks are needed per metre?

Each piece is 25 cm long, so 4 infill blocks are laid per linear metre between joists. The total per m² depends on the spacing and the slab layout.

How much does each infill block weigh?

Between 9 kg (60 x 17 x 25) and 16.3 kg (70 x 25 x 25). The intermediate sizes weigh 11, 11.33, 12.5 and 13.6 kg.

How much does a pallet weigh?

Between 625 and 680 kg depending on the size. For example, the pallet of 70 pcs of 60 x 17 x 25 weighs 630 kg.

Can I buy less than a pallet?

Yes, every size is available in a half-pallet pack: from 20 to 35 pieces depending on the depth.

What is the advantage over a concrete infill block?

It is lighter, insulates better and gives the ceiling plaster a better key.

Is it suitable for roof slabs?

Yes, it is used in intermediate floors and roof slabs, always according to the project and with the insulation and waterproofing it specifies.

Is there a technical data sheet?

Yes, the technical data sheet is sent on request.
