Aged Numancia Cobblestone 8 cm - 3-piece composition for vehicle traffic
Numancia Cobblestone: weathered, 8 cm, and three-piece composition
The Numancia Cobblestone by Adybor is a weathered cobblestone: it is tumbled to break the edges and wear down the corners, and it is supplied in an inseparable three-piece composition of 20x14, 14x14, and 9x14 cm pieces that are laid mixed together. The result is an irregular layout, with no continuous lines, and the look of old paving. At 8 cm thick, it is fully suitable for vehicular traffic, which is what sets it apart from thinner weathered pavers. The irregularity of the edges and the mismatch between pieces are not a defect: they are the finish you are buying.
✅ Advantages
8 cm thickness: this is the thickness from which a concrete paver can withstand vehicular traffic. Here you do not have to choose between old-style aesthetics and load-bearing capacity.
Factory weathered finish: broken edges and tumbled, worn corners. The paving is born with patina; you do not have to wait for it to develop one.
Three-format composition: 20x14, 14x14, and 9x14 cm in the same pack, which breaks up the grid and avoids the industrial-floor effect.
Inseparable pack: the manufacturer supplies the mix already proportioned, so you do not have to calculate how much of each piece to order.
Wide color range: grey, brown, multipardo, multiterra, nature, black, sahara, sepia, and vulcano.
Inspectable paving: laid on sand, it can be lifted and replaced piece by piece to run utilities or make repairs, without breaking up the surface.

🧰 Installation
Excavate and compact the subgrade, and spread a 20–25 cm base of well-compacted aggregate, which is what is required for an area where vehicles will pass.
Lay a 3–5 cm bedding sand layer, leveled with screeds and without compacting.
Empty the pack by mixing the three formats as you go: if you place all the 20x14 pieces first and then the smaller ones, bands appear and the irregular layout is lost.
Lay it dry with 3–5 mm joints, drawing from three or four pallets at a time to distribute the tones evenly.
Sweep dry silica sand until all joints are filled.
Compact with a vibrating plate with a rubber mat and sweep sand again. Repeat until the joint stops settling.

💡 Professional tip: order between 5 and 7% more surface area than the measurement, because in a layout of three pieces the finishing cuts eat up quite a bit of material. And don’t unload pallet by pallet: open three at once and alternate between them. Colored concrete changes tone between batches, and in an aged finish that variation adds up when it is distributed, but stands out when it appears in bands. A thickness note: the 8 cm of the Numancia are what allow vehicle traffic; if the project is only for pedestrians and you want to save, a 6 cm paver is enough, but never the other way around.
