Padded pyjama-style trousers for cold stores

Velilla 253002 padded pyjama-style trousers: for working inside the cold store, not in front of it

Standard food-handler trousers won't last a shift in a refrigerated store. These are lined and filled with 190 g/m² wadding and certified to UNE-EN 14058, the standard for protective clothing against cool environments above −5 °C: chilled stores, loading docks and cutting rooms.

✅ Features

  • Padded with 190 g/m² wadding: 100% polyester filling that insulates without the bulk of freezer-room trousers.
  • Full inner lining: 100% polyester, so the wadding doesn't rub or clump.
  • Concealed press-stud fastening: no visible buttons that could come loose onto the product.
  • Elasticated waist: pulls on and off over street trousers without getting changed.
  • Ribbed hems: close the trouser leg and stop cold air getting in at the ankle.
  • Double safety seams and one inner hook-and-loop pocket.

👷 Suitable for

  • Cold stores and refrigerated rooms in the food industry.
  • Cutting rooms, fresh food workshops and cold packing.
  • Loading and unloading docks for chilled products.
  • Food distribution warehouses with cold areas.
  • Order picking in supermarkets and hypermarkets.

🧺 Care

  • Inner label: Velilla does not publish the wash cycle for this reference; follow the symbols sewn into the garment.
  • Drying: it is a padded garment and takes much longer to dry than unlined trousers. Bear this in mind when working out how many sets each worker needs.
  • Do not iron the padding: direct heat flattens the wadding and reduces its insulating power, which is exactly what you are paying for in this garment.

💡 Tip: watch the standard. EN 14058 covers cool environments, not freezing: it is designed for work above −5 °C. If your store is a freezer at −18 °C or −22 °C, this garment falls short and you need equipment certified to EN 342. And since it is worn over street trousers, choose your usual size: the elasticated waist already gives the extra room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it suitable for a freezer room?

No. The UNE-EN 14058 standard covers cool environments above -5 C. For freezing at -18 C or -22 C you need equipment certified to EN 342.

Is it worn over street trousers?

Yes, the elasticated waist is designed for that; choose your usual size.

What is inside?

A 100% polyester lining and 190 g/m2 100% polyester wadding filling.

Does the fastening have visible buttons?

No, they are concealed press studs, with no visible parts that could fall onto the product.

Why are the hems ribbed?

To close around the ankle and stop cold air getting in.

How long does it take to dry?

Much longer than unlined trousers, because of the padding. It is advisable to have several sets per worker.

Can it be ironed?

Avoid direct heat on the padding: it flattens the wadding and reduces its insulating power.
