Class 1 short-sleeve high-visibility polo shirt

Velilla 172 high-visibility polo shirt: the short-sleeve polo for everyday site work

When it's hot and a shirt is too much, this polo keeps you visible without sacrificing comfort. It is a class 1 high-visibility garment according to EN ISO 20471, in 100% polyester Bird-Eye fabric of 160 g/m², with REFLATEX reflective tapes on the torso.

✅ Features

  • Bird-Eye fabric: polyester knit with a honeycomb structure that lets air through and dries quickly, designed for hot working days.
  • Reflective tapes on the torso: REFLATEX retroreflection so the worker stands out in vehicle headlights.
  • Central button fastening: lets you open the collar when the heat is on.
  • Ribbed collar and sleeve cuffs: the elastic knit keeps the garment in place and doesn't lose its shape with use.
  • Chest patch pocket: for a pen, access card or mobile phone.
  • Two fluorescent background colours: fluorescent yellow and fluorescent orange, the only two colours the standard allows for the fluorescent background.

👷 Suitable for

  • Civil engineering and building construction in the hot months.
  • Warehouses and logistics platforms with forklift traffic.
  • Gardening, municipal services and waste collection during daytime hours.
  • Workshops and industrial facilities where a high-visibility garment is required.
  • As an inner layer under a higher-class vest or jacket.

📋 Technical data

🧺 Care

  • Machine washable; 100% polyester tolerates repeated cycles well and hardly shrinks.
  • Do not use chlorine bleach: it dulls the fluorescent background, which is what gives the class.
  • Do not iron over the reflective tapes or run a hot iron over them.
  • No excess fabric softener: it leaves a film on the retroreflective material and reduces its performance.
  • Take the garment out of service when the fluorescent colour looks dull or the tape is cracked, even if the garment is intact.

💡 Tip: this polo is class 1, the lowest level of EN ISO 20471. On its own it is not enough for working on a carriageway open to traffic or at night: for that the standard requires class 3, and class 3 is achieved by combining garments. Wear it under a class 2 or 3 high-visibility vest or jacket, and check the class of the whole outfit, not of the single garment.
