Class 3 high-visibility rain suit

Velilla 189 high-visibility rain suit: two pieces, class 3 and EN 343

Waterproof jacket and trousers set in 100% polyester with 130 g/m² PU coating. It is one of the few references in the catalogue that reaches class 3 of EN ISO 20471, and it is also certified to EN 343 (3/1) as protective clothing against rain.

✅ Features

  • Two-piece set: jacket and trousers; the worker is covered from top to bottom, which is what makes class 3 possible.
  • EN 343 (3/1): class 3 for resistance to water penetration and class 1 for water vapour resistance.
  • Reflective tapes on the torso, sleeves and trouser hems.
  • Hood concealed in the collar, elastic cuffs and adjustable hem with toggle.
  • Inner mesh on the back and metal eyelets so that air circulates and condensation doesn't build up inside.
  • Trousers with elasticated waist, press studs and side openings with flap to reach the pockets of the clothes underneath.

👷 Suitable for

  • Road signage, maintenance and roadside assistance in the rain, also at night.
  • Civil engineering and railways.
  • Municipal services, waste collection and street cleaning.
  • Towing and emergency services.
  • As back-up equipment in the cab or van, for when the weather changes.

📋 Technical data

  • Velilla reference: 189
  • Outer: 100% polyester with PU coating, 130 g/m²
  • Inner mesh: 100% polyester, 50 g/m²
  • Standards: EN ISO 20471 class 3; EN 343 (3/1)
  • Set includes: jacket and trousers
  • Colours: fluorescent yellow and fluorescent orange
  • Sizes available at Vetonek: M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL

🧺 Care

  • Machine wash at low temperature or clean with a damp cloth.
  • No fabric softener: it ruins the PU coating that makes the suit waterproof.
  • No chlorine bleach and no tumble dryer: heat deforms the coating.
  • Do not iron: PU sticks.
  • Store it dry and spread out; folding it wet cracks the coating along the folds.

💡 Tip: here is the key to why this set is class 3 while a separate hi-vis trouser doesn't even reach class 2: the class depends on the total surface area of fluorescent and retroreflective material the person is wearing. As a jacket plus trousers, all the surface adds up and the highest level is reached. So if you go out onto public roads in the rain, wear both pieces: with the jacket alone you are no longer in the certified configuration.
