Armafill - Fiberglass reinforcement mesh for SikaFill® systems

Armafill: fiberglass reinforcement mesh for SikaFill® waterproofing

Armafill is the reinforcing mesh that is embedded within the liquid membranes of the SikaFill® range. Its role is to give body and continuity to the waterproofing: an unreinforced liquid membrane follows the movements of the substrate until a crack appears, and that is exactly where the mesh spreads the stress and prevents the sheet from opening up.

It is supplied in a 50 m² roll, in a format that is easy to handle on the roof without unnecessary cuts. It is laid over the first coat of waterproofing while it is still wet and finished with the second coat, so that it ends up completely embedded between layers.

✅ Main advantages

  • Reinforces the membrane: spreads stress and reduces the risk of cracking in the waterproofing.
  • Continuity at critical points: essential at junctions, drains, joints and edge details.
  • Controlled thickness: helps maintain a uniform membrane thickness across the entire surface.
  • Easy to handle: adapts to the geometry of the roof and can be cut with scissors or a utility knife.
  • Job-site roll: 50 m² per roll.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Reinforcement of SikaFill® liquid membranes on flat and pitched roofs.
  • Reinforcement of junctions with vertical walls, parapets and flashings.
  • Treatment of drains, pipe penetrations and elements that pass through the roof.
  • Reinforcement of joints, cracks and special points before the finish.
  • Refurbishment of roofs with liquid waterproofing.

📋 Technical specifications

  • Type: fiberglass reinforcement mesh.
  • Use: reinforcement of SikaFill® liquid waterproofing membranes.
  • Supply: 50 m² roll.
  • Installation: embedded between the first and second coats of waterproofing.
  • Weight per m², roll width, mesh opening size and tensile strength: not published on the Sika España website. Please refer to the SikaFill® system documentation.

🧰 Instructions for use

  1. Prepare the substrate according to the Data Sheet of the SikaFill® you are going to use: clean, firm and free of standing water.
  2. Apply the first coat of waterproofing at the application rate indicated by Sika.
  3. Spread the mesh over the still-wet product and press it with a brush or roller until it is soaked through.
  4. Overlap adjacent strips and always reinforce junctions, drains and corners with additional strips.
  5. Avoid wrinkles and air pockets: a poorly embedded mesh creates a delamination plane.
  6. Allow to dry according to the waterproofing product's Data Sheet.
  7. Apply the second coat until the mesh is completely covered, with no fiber left exposed.

🛡️ Standards and certificates

  • Accessory of the SikaFill® liquid waterproofing system from Sika España.
  • The performance of the waterproofing is justified for the complete system (membrane + reinforcement), not for the mesh on its own.
  • Sika España does not publish a separate Data Sheet for this mesh on its website.

📦 Supply formats

  • 50 m² roll.
  • Rolls per box or per pallet: not declared.

💡 Professional tip: the mesh is not laid dry and then painted over. The classic mistake is to roll it out over the clean roof and then apply the first coat: the fiber floats, air pockets form, and the following year you can see the pattern of the mesh marked on the roof. Work in short sections, with a fresh first coat, mesh embedded in it, and always overlap a few centimeters between strips.

Sika España does not publish a Product Data Sheet for Armafill on its website. The description is qualitative and the format comes from the supplier's catalog; no unverified technical figures are included.

Frequently asked questions

What is Armafill?

It is a fiberglass reinforcement mesh that is embedded within the liquid membranes of the SikaFill range. It spreads stress and helps prevent the sheet from opening up when a crack appears.

What format does it come in?

It is supplied in a 50 m² roll. Rolls per box or per pallet are not declared.

How is it installed?

It is spread over the first coat of waterproofing while still wet and pressed until it is soaked through. The second coat is then applied until the mesh is completely covered, with no fiber exposed.

What is it used for on a roof?

It is used to reinforce SikaFill liquid membranes on roofs, and to reinforce junctions, parapets, drains, joints, cracks and special points.

What technical data does it have?

Weight per m², roll width, mesh opening size and tensile strength are not published. To find them, please refer to the SikaFill system documentation.

Frequently asked questions about Sika products (mortars, adhesives and sealants)

How do I know which size and quantity to buy?

Each product page includes the approximate yield or consumption (for example kg/m² or metres of bead per cartridge) in the "Technical specifications" section. Calculate the surface area or thickness of your project and multiply by that consumption to find out how many units you need. If in doubt, contact us with the measurements of your job.

Where can I find the complete technical data sheet (Product Data Sheet)?

The description of each product already includes the main technical data (strengths, setting times, application temperature, applicable standards, etc.), taken from the official Sika Spain Product Data Sheet. If you need the complete PDF data sheet or the safety data sheet (SDS), write to us and we will send it to you.

Do these products comply with European regulations (CE marking)?

Most Sika products carry the CE marking in accordance with the relevant European standard (for example EN 1504 for structural repair, EN 12004 for tile adhesives, EN 13888 for grouts or EN 15651 for sealants). The exact standard for each reference is detailed in the "Standards and certificates" section of its product page.

What protective equipment do I need to apply them?

It depends on the product: cement-based mortars and adhesives are usually irritating to skin and eyes (gloves, goggles and a mask are recommended), while polyurethane sealants and adhesives require good ventilation. Always check the safety section of the product page and its safety data sheet (SDS) before use.

How should I store these products and how long do they last unopened?

Shelf life and storage conditions (temperature, humidity, protection from light) vary depending on the type of product (cementitious, polyurethane, epoxy, etc.) and are stated on the packaging and in the data sheet of each reference. In general, it is advisable to store in a dry place, protected from frost and direct sunlight.

Can I return a Sika product if I haven't used it?

Yes, you have 14 calendar days from receipt to exercise your right of withdrawal, provided the product is in its original packaging and has not been opened. The cost of return shipping is borne by the customer. Contact us at info@vetonek.com or via WhatsApp on +34 629 571 735.

How long does my order take to arrive?

We ship to mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands, Portugal and the other European countries we serve (France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, etc.). The estimated delivery time is 3 to 9 working days (no shipping to the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla).
