Main Uses:
Agriculture: Perlite can be mixed with all kinds of organic substrates to improve soil aeration, promoting root development and preventing compaction. It allows for a gradual release of water, preventing water stress in plants.
Hydroponics: One of the most important materials, and therefore the most used in soil-less cultivation, various studies have shown that with perlite, outstanding crops are achieved. It has a pH in water of between 7 and 10, making it an excellent substrate for hydroponic crops. The ideal granulation for this modality is 1-5 mm.
Gardening: It is used in substrate mixtures for pots, vertical gardens, and container gardening. Essential for plants that require efficient drainage.
Construction: Due to its insulating capacity, it is used in the manufacture of mortars, plasters, and lightweight concretes.
Filtration: As a filtering medium in food and beverage industries.
High-temperature industries: Its thermal resistance makes it suitable for use as insulation in furnaces and foundries.
