Classic Pillar for Balustrade - Three Heights for Every Baluster Series

Classic Pillar for Balustrade: what it is

It's the vertical element that breaks up the row of balusters and gives the enclosure its structure: it marks the corners, the accesses and the starting points, and divides the run into sections. It's offered in three heights so the pillar's cap lines up with the baluster's in each series, without the fence ending up stepped. It also works as a freestanding decorative pilaster in classic-style settings.

✅ Key advantages

  • Three heights: 74.5 cm, 77 cm and 84.5 cm, one for each baluster height in the collection.
  • Aligned cap: the top of the pillar sits at the same level as the balustrade's, with no steps along the run.
  • Adjustable on site: the 84.5 cm version has internal marks for cutting it down to also match 80 cm balusters.
  • Wide base: a 16 or 21 cm section, wide enough to take the start of two balustrade runs.
  • 9.4 to 12.4 kg per piece: can be carried and set by hand with no lifting gear.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Intermediate and corner pillars in baluster fences.
  • Access pilasters and door jambs for plot gates.
  • Dividing long enclosure runs into sections.
  • Freestanding architectural feature in classic-style gardens.

🧰 Installation

  1. Set out the pillar positions first, then split the balusters between them, never the other way round.
  2. Check that the base is level and clean; the pillar is the plumb reference for the whole run.
  3. Assemble the pillar sections on bonding mortar, checking plumb in both directions at each height.
  4. If you need to lower the height, cut at the internal marks before bedding the piece.
  5. Let the pillar set before starting the row of balusters against it.
  6. Fit the pillar cap that matches its position in the fence.

📦 Available formats

  • 74.5 × 16 × 4 × 4.5 × 4.5 cm, single unit or pallet of 52 units.
  • 77 × 21 × 4 × 5 × 5 cm, single unit or pallet of 52 units.
  • 84.5 × 16 × 4 × 4.5 × 4.5 cm, single unit or pallet of 48 units.

💡 Professional tip: set out the pillars first and adjust the baluster spacing to the gap left between them. If you start from the balusters with a fixed spacing, the last gap before the pillar comes out different from all the others, with no way to hide it. And let the pillar set before pushing the row up against it: it's the plumb reference for the entire run.
