Fonzaleche Ecological Wall - Planter Block for Green Slopes
Fonzaleche Ecological Wall: the slope that blooms
An ecological wall retains the soil and plants it at the same time: each block is an open planter where groundcovers, aromatic herbs or grass take root, and the slope goes from being a problem to being a garden on a gradient. The Fonzaleche Ecological Wall is a concrete planter block measuring 20 × 35 × 50 cm, available in four colors, which is stacked in steps following the incline of the terrain.
✅ Main advantages
Retains and plants at the same time: each piece is a planter: the wall ends up covered in green.
Stepped dry-laid installation: the courses are set back against the slope and work by gravity.
Naturally draining: water passes between the pieces and irrigates the planting: no hydrostatic pressure.
Sturdy 40 kg piece: 6 pieces per linear meter of course, real stability.
Four colors: Blanco, Crema, Gris and Salmón.
🏗️ Recommended applications
Slope retention with a planted finish
Ecological dividing walls between plots
Terraces and gardens on a slope

🧰 Installation
Excavate and compact a level base of crushed stone or lean concrete.
Lay the first course level, partially buried.
Build up the courses with staggered joints, setting each one back against the slope.
Fill each block and the back of the wall with topsoil, compacted in layers.
Plant groundcovers or aromatic herbs and water until they take root.
💡 Professional tip: plant trailing species (creeping rosemary, baby sun rose, vinca) in the upper courses and groundcovers in the lower ones: in two seasons the concrete disappears under the greenery. For slopes more than 1.5 m high, consult a technician.
Frequently Asked Questions
Tapizantes y aromáticas (romero rastrero, aptenia, vinca, lavanda).
