Peñafiel Concrete Block - Marble Finish for Walls and Pillars

Peñafiel Block: what it is

The Peñafiel block is a concrete piece with a uniform marble-effect finish and texture, designed to build walls and enclosures that match the Peñafiel pillar. Its geometry allows for simple installation with no specialist labour, covering 15 pieces per m².

✅ Key advantages

  • Uniform texture: the marble-effect finish stays consistent piece to piece, with no stains or tone shifts within the same batch.
  • Direct assembly: the modular format matches the Peñafiel pillar, so wall and pillar line up at the same course height.
  • Two formats: the 40 × 17 × 17.1 cm running piece and the 40 × 40 × 17.1 cm piece handle the panel and the corners with no cutting.
  • Manageable weight: 11.2 kg per piece, within the range for manual handling on site.
  • Two factory colours: anthracite and sand, both through-coloured.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Enclosure walls and plot fencing.
  • Terrace parapets and balustrade walls.
  • Dividing walls in gardens and landscaped areas.
  • Built-in benches and planters.
  • Wall panels combined with pillars in the same finish.

  • Units per pallet (40 × 17 × 17.1 cm): 105 units.
  • Units per pallet (40 × 40 × 17.1 cm): 24 units.
  • Colours available: anthracite and sand.
  • Material: concrete.

🧰 Installation

  1. Lay out the wall and cast a level strip footing, leaving reinforcement starter bars where the pillars will go.
  2. Lay the first course on fresh mortar and check level and square: this course sets the line for all the rest.
  3. Build up course by course with staggered joints, filling the vertical joints and keeping a consistent joint thickness.
  4. Alternate pieces from different pallets to spread out any slight tone difference.
  5. Clean off mortar residue with the trowel before it sets; once dry it's far harder to remove and can scratch the exposed face.
  6. Cap the wall with a coping or pillar cap that overhangs the panel to protect the last course.

📦 Available formats

  • 40 × 17 × 17.1 cm — anthracite or sand — single unit or pallet of 105.
  • 40 × 40 × 17.1 cm — anthracite or sand — single unit or pallet of 24.

💡 Professional tip: order between 7% and 10% extra pieces. Between transport breakages, corner cuts and adjusting the last course, a wall at 15 pieces/m² eats up that margin without you noticing, and a later top-up almost never comes from the same colour batch.
