Concrete Pillar Capital - Decorative Cap for 30 and 40 cm Pillars
Concrete Pillar Capital: what it is
The capital is the decorative capping piece that tops 30 × 30 and 40 × 40 cm pillars. Its socketed base self-centres on the pillar, so the piece lines up on its own with no need for careful setting out, and it also serves as a support for lightweight garden structures.
✅ Key advantages
Self-centring: the socket in the base fits over the top of the pillar and fixes its position with no templates or guesswork.
Dual function: it caps the pillar decoratively and also supports pergolas, porches and lightweight structures.
Two sizes: 50 × 50 cm for 30 × 30 cm pillars and 55 × 55 cm for 40 × 40 cm pillars, both with enough overhang to protect the top.
Moulded profile: the stepped edge breaks the fall of water and adds shadow to the piece.
Versatile cap: the white finish combines with the smooth-face Bellver pillar and the carved-texture Loarre pillar.

🧰 Installation
Check that the top of the pillar is level and free of mortar residue and dust.
Dry-fit the capital and check that the socket sits loosely over the pillar before applying anything.
Apply a bonding adhesive for precast concrete in beads over the top of the pillar, without reaching the outer edge.
Bed the piece and check level in both directions before the adhesive starts to grab.
Remove any spillage while fresh, with a spatula and a damp cloth.
Don't load the piece with the pergola until the adhesive has cured for the time stated on its packaging.
📦 Available formats
55 × 55 × 4 × 11 × 30 cm — white — single unit or pallet of 12.
50 × 50 × 3.5 × 10 × 23 cm — white — single unit or pallet of 8.
💡 Professional tip: don't bed the capital on a continuous mortar bed that runs right to the edge. If the mortar seals the whole perimeter, any water that gets in through a hairline crack stays trapped inside, and it freezes and chips the edge come the first winter. Work with interior beads and let the edge breathe.
