Flat Concrete Pillar Cap - Drip Edge Protects the Pillar from Water

Flat Concrete Pillar Cap: what it is

The flat pillar cap finishes off any type of pillar, whether precast, stone or brick. Its flat top gives a clean, sober finish, and the drip edge on the underside cuts off the water before it runs down the pillar, which is where stains and efflorescence on the top of piers come from.

✅ Key advantages

  • Underside drip edge: the perimeter groove breaks the surface tension and forces the drop to fall straight down.
  • Three sizes: 28 × 28, 40 × 40 and 50 × 50 cm, to overhang small, medium and large pillar sections.
  • Flat profile: a clean, discreet straight line, the neutral choice when you don't want a pyramid-shaped cap.
  • Dual function: the 40 and 50 cm models also work as caps for square static roof vents.
  • Two colours: white and beige, to combine with the Bellver, Loarre and Cuéllar pillars.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Capping precast enclosure pillars.
  • Capping brick or stone piers.
  • Capping square static roof vents (40 and 50 cm sizes).
  • Capping gate and entrance piers.
  • Capping fence pillars and garden wall piers.

🧰 Installation

  1. Check that the top of the pillar is level and free of dust and mortar residue.
  2. Dry-fit the piece and spread the overhang evenly on all four sides; the drip edge only works if it projects past the pillar's face.
  3. Apply concrete-precast adhesive in interior beads, without reaching the outer edge.
  4. Bed the piece and check level in both directions before the adhesive starts to grab.
  5. Remove excess material while fresh and clean the drip-edge groove all the way round.

📦 Available formats

  • 28 × 28 × 4 cm — white or beige — single unit or pallet of 32.
  • 40 × 40 × 6 cm — white or beige — single unit or pallet of 34.
  • 50 × 50 × 6 cm — white or beige — single unit or pallet of 16.

💡 Professional tip: measure the pillar before ordering, not the fence. The classic mistake is buying the 40 cm pillar cap for a 40 cm-wide pier: with no overhang, the drip edge sits flush with the pillar's face and does nothing. Always leave 3 to 5 cm of overhang on each side.
