Sikafloor®-419 W: clear sealer varnish for microcement and resin floors
Sikafloor®-419 W is the final coat of the floor: a clear sealer varnish that closes the pores of the substrate, protects the color and absorbs everyday wear so that the decorative coating underneath doesn't have to.
It is one of the two products that Sika itself specifies as the final seal for the SikaDecor®-690 Micro microcement system, together with Sikafloor®-304 W, and it is chosen according to the desired finish: gloss or matt.

🧰 Directions for use
Check that the coating to be sealed has completed its waiting time. In the SikaDecor®-690 Micro system, sealing is carried out between 24 hours and 7 days after applying the microcement.
Vacuum thoroughly and remove any sanding dust, grease or construction debris: no sealer adheres over dust.
On cementitious substrates, first apply the primer that Sika indicates for that substrate.
Homogenize the product without over-stirring, so as not to introduce air that would later leave bubbles in the film.
Spread a first thin, even coat with a roller or application mop, always in the same direction and without leaving puddles.
Observe the waiting time between coats given in the Data Sheet and apply the second coat crosswise to the first.
Protect the floor from dust and traffic until the seal has fully hardened.

💡 Professional tip: don't mix finishes in the same room, and don't apply the second coat from a tin of a different batch without homogenizing it: gloss is unforgiving of differences in thickness and batch, and any overlap shows against the light. If you are undecided between gloss and matt in a home, matt is much more forgiving of footprints, dust and the everyday micro-scratches; leave gloss for small surfaces or where you want to enhance the color. And don't confuse this product with Sikafloor®-304 W: they are the two sealers Sika approves for the same system, but the finish and the feel are not identical, so don't alternate them within the same floor.

What protective equipment do I need to apply them?
It depends on the product: cement-based mortars and adhesives are usually irritating to skin and eyes (gloves, goggles and a mask are recommended), while polyurethane sealants and adhesives require good ventilation. Always check the safety section of the product page and its safety data sheet (SDS) before use.
How should I store these products and how long do they last unopened?
Shelf life and storage conditions (temperature, humidity, protection from light) vary depending on the type of product (cementitious, polyurethane, epoxy, etc.) and are stated on the packaging and in the data sheet of each reference. In general, it is advisable to store in a dry place, protected from frost and direct sunlight.
