Men's stretch work coat with mandarin collar

Velilla 539006S Men's Stretch Work Coat: Mandarin Collar, Snap Buttons and Elastic Fabric

Men's white work coat in 190 g/m² stretch twill with 4% elastane, classic length with long sleeves. Snap button closure and mandarin collar, the combination required in the food industry because the mandarin collar has no points to collect dirt and the snaps open in one pull if the garment has to be removed quickly. The women's version is reference 539007S and the short version is 539008S.

✅ Features

  • Mandarin collar: no points or lapel, so no corners where dirt can build up. It is the collar required by many food industry specifications.
  • Snap buttons: opens in one pull. In the event of a hot splash or a product spill, being able to take the coat off in a second matters.
  • 4% elastane: the coat moves with your shoulders and arms instead of pulling at the armhole.
  • Semi-fitted with side panels: cut with front and back side panels, which gives shape without taking away working room.
  • Back vent and safety seam: the safety seam gives way before the fabric tears if the coat gets snagged.
  • Three pockets: one chest pocket and two lower pockets.

👷 Suitable jobs

  • Food industry and food production workshops.
  • Analysis and quality control laboratories.
  • Pharmacies, opticians and orthopedic shops.
  • Medical practices and veterinary clinics.
  • Food warehouses and distribution centers.
  • Technical services and clean workshops.

  • Composition: 62% polyester · 34% cotton · 4% elastane
  • Weight: 190 g/m²

  • Cut: semi-fitted, with yoke and back vent
  • Pockets: one chest pocket and two lower pockets

🧺 Care

  • Wash at 60 °C. Do not routinely exceed that temperature so as not to degrade the elastane.
  • Tumble dry at medium or low temperature.
  • Do not use chlorine bleach: it yellows the white and attacks the elastic fiber.
  • Iron at medium temperature.
  • Suitable for industrial laundering at 60 °C with moderate drying.

💡 Tip: If the coat is white and goes to a laundry service, prohibit chlorine bleach in writing in the specifications. It sounds counterintuitive, but chlorine irreversibly yellows white polyester and destroys the elastane: after a few months you will have yellowed coats with no way of recovering them. To keep the white, use chlorine-free optical brightener and wash at 60 °C.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it differ from the 539007S?

The 539007S is the same coat but with a women's pattern and sizes XS to 2XL. The 539006S is the men's version and runs from S to 3XL. They are not the same garment with a different label.

And from the 539008S?

The 539008S is the men's short version, with the hem above the hip and a regular button fastening instead of press studs. This 539006S is classic length.

Why a mandarin collar and not a shirt collar?

Because a mandarin collar has no points or lapels, and therefore none of the corners where dirt builds up. It's the collar required by many food industry specifications.

Does it withstand industrial washing at 90 degrees?

The manufacturer specifies 60 °C. At 90 °C the elastane degrades quickly. If the laundry works at 90 °C, choose a coat without elastane such as the 539001 or the cotton 539005.

Can it be sterilised in an autoclave?

No. Elastane cannot withstand the 121-134 °C steam of an autoclave.

Can I use bleach to keep it white?

No. Chlorine irreversibly yellows white polyester and destroys elastane. Use a chlorine-free optical brightener.

Which size should I order if I'll wear clothes underneath?

Go up one size if you'll wear a jumper or fleece under the coat.
