This inter-town championship focuses on fundamental values such as healthy fun, sportsmanship, respect and personal relationships — essential aspects of sport.
How Did It All Start?
Fitobol's origin is closely linked to Rubén Pardo, its founder and organizer, who created this tournament as a tribute to his father, Fito, a passionate grassroots football fan who died of cancer. With the name "Fitobol", Rubén wanted to honor his father's love of football, while carrying forward his dream of offering a sports platform that would teach not only the technical side of football, but also the values of togetherness and teamwork.
3x3 Football: Fun and Sport for Everyone
Fitobol is based on 3x3 football, played without goalkeepers and with mixed teams of three players. This format allows any town to take part, since large facilities are not required; the "Fitocampo", a portable pitch sized to fit different spaces, makes it possible to hold the tournament in various locations. Its metal structure, along with its adaptable size, ensures that matches are not affected by factors such as the weather.
Fitobol's Purpose and Mission
Over the years, Fitobol has grown, with boys and girls from various towns taking part, from the "aspirante" category (5-6 years old) to the "infantil" category (13-14 years old). This tournament seeks to recapture the spirit of old sports tournaments, where competition and fun go hand in hand. The event culminates in a grand final, where the champions from each town face off in a sporting celebration that promotes the values of respect, equality and local culture.
Commitment to the Community
Fitobol is not just about playing sport. Through the platform, Rubén Pardo and his team also aim to encourage solidarity. During the championships, a raffle and a "Pincho Solidario" (charity tapas event) are held, with proceeds going towards buying toys for local hospitals. Over its various editions, Fitobol has raised significant funds to support several associations and hospitals.
