Antiqua Cobblestone: the aged cobblestone for pavements with a historic feel
Adybor's Antiqua Cobblestone leaves the factory drum-aged: the pieces are tumbled until the edges break and the sides wear down, so the newly laid pavement already looks as if it has been there for decades. The irregularity of edges and corners is not a manufacturing defect: it is the finish. With a thickness of 7 cm and three combinable formats of 24x16, 16x16 and 12x16 cm, it is the natural choice for historic districts, square renovation projects, access areas for rural houses and rustic-style gardens.
✅ Advantages
Factory-aged: the tumbling process breaks the edges and rounds the sides. There is no need to wait years for the pavement to gain character: it arrives with it already built in.
Irregularity is the point: no piece is exactly the same as the next, and that variation in edge and tone is precisely what keeps the surface from looking industrial.
Three formats that can be mixed: 24x16, 16x16 and 12x16 cm share thickness and color range, so they can be combined in the same surface to break up the grid.
7 cm thickness: the manufacturer approves it for pedestrian use and in areas subject to vehicle traffic and roofs.
Concrete compliant with UNE-EN 1338: strength Xi>2.9 / X8>3.6 MPa, breaking load X8>250 N/mm, wear class 4 I (Xi < 20 mm) and absorption class 2B (X8 < 6%).
Removable pavement: laid on sand, it can be lifted and replaced piece by piece, without breaking the surface, to run utilities or carry out repairs.

🧠 Installation
Excavate and compact the subgrade, and lay a 15-20 cm base of well-compacted crusher run (thicker if vehicles will pass over it).
Spread a 3-5 cm bedding sand layer, leveled with straightedges and without compacting.
Lay the cobblestones tight, leaving a 3-5 mm joint, always drawing from three or four pallets at once so the tones are evenly distributed and no patches appear.
Reserve cuts for the edges: the cut edge comes out clean and breaks the aged effect, so leave it against the curb or wall.
Sweep dry silica sand over the pavement until all the joints are filled.
Compact with a vibrating plate with a rubber mat and sweep sand over again. Repeat until the joint stops settling.

With list price: 24x16x7 cm, 16x16x7 cm and 12x16x7 cm, in the color range.
Colors: ash, sahara, vulcano and black. In these three formats it is not manufactured in gray: the price list only includes the color range.
On request: it is also manufactured in 21x17x7 cm, 8x8x7 cm and 24x16x5 cm. Ask us for lead time and price.
Packaging: per square meter or by full pallet.
💡 Professional tip: order between 5 and 7% more surface area than you have measured: between cuts, finishing pieces, and the occasional chipped piece, that margin disappears. And do not empty an entire pallet before opening the next one: colored concrete changes slightly in tone between batches, and if you lay pallet by pallet you end up seeing bands. By drawing from three pallets at once, the variation is spread out and reads as richness of color, which is exactly what is sought in an aged finish.
