Velilla 539006S men's stretch work coat: mandarin collar, press studs and stretch fabric
Men's white coat in 190 g/m² stretch twill with 4% elastane, classic length and long sleeves. Press-stud fastening and mandarin collar, the combination requested in the food industry because a mandarin collar doesn't collect dirt in collar points and press studs open in one pull if you need to take the garment off quickly. The women's version is reference 539007S and the short version 539008S.
✅ Features
Mandarin collar: no points or lapels, and therefore none of the corners where dirt builds up. It's the collar required by many food industry specifications.
Press studs: opens in one pull. In a hot splash or a product spill, taking the coat off in a second matters.
4% elastane: the coat follows the movement of your shoulders and arms instead of pulling at the armholes.
Semi-fitted with princess seams: front and back princess seams give shape without taking away working room.
Back vent and safety seam: the safety seam gives way before the fabric tears if the coat gets caught.
Three pockets: one chest pocket and two lower pockets.
Wash at 60 °C. Do not regularly exceed this temperature so as not to degrade the elastane.
Tumble dry at medium or low temperature.
Do not use chlorine bleach: it yellows white and attacks the elastic fibre.
Iron at medium temperature.
Suitable for industrial laundry at 60 °C with moderate drying.
💡 Tip: If the coat is white and goes to a laundry, ban chlorine bleach in writing in the specifications. It seems counterintuitive, but chlorine irreversibly yellows white polyester and destroys elastane: after a few months you'll have yellowish coats with no recovery. To keep white white, use chlorine-free optical brightener and wash at 60 °C.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does it differ from the 539007S?
The 539007S is the same coat but with a women's pattern and sizes XS to 2XL. The 539006S is the men's version and runs from S to 3XL. They are not the same garment with a different label.
And from the 539008S?
The 539008S is the men's short version, with the hem above the hip and a regular button fastening instead of press studs. This 539006S is classic length.
Why a mandarin collar and not a shirt collar?
Because a mandarin collar has no points or lapels, and therefore none of the corners where dirt builds up. It's the collar required by many food industry specifications.
Does it withstand industrial washing at 90 degrees?
The manufacturer specifies 60 °C. At 90 °C the elastane degrades quickly. If the laundry works at 90 °C, choose a coat without elastane such as the 539001 or the cotton 539005.
Can it be sterilised in an autoclave?
No. Elastane cannot withstand the 121-134 °C steam of an autoclave.
Can I use bleach to keep it white?
No. Chlorine irreversibly yellows white polyester and destroys elastane. Use a chlorine-free optical brightener.
Which size should I order if I'll wear clothes underneath?
Go up one size if you'll wear a jumper or fleece under the coat.
