240 g/m² stretch multi-pocket shorts

Velilla 103009S stretch multi-pocket shorts

The S at the end of the reference stands for stretch, and here it is not just decoration: the fabric is 46% cotton, 38% EME and 16% polyester, 240 g/m². It is a heavier fabric than the twill of the 344 shorts — 240 versus 200 g/m² — and at the same time elastic, which in workwear means being able to squat without the garment pulling at the knee or crotch.

✅ Features

  • 240 g/m² stretch fabric: 46% cotton, 38% EME and 16% polyester, according to Velilla's official composition.
  • Real elasticity: lets you bend, kneel and climb ladders without the shorts restricting movement.
  • Heavier than the classic shorts: 240 g/m² versus the 200 g/m² of the 344.
  • Contrast topstitched seams and double safety stitching.
  • Elasticated waistband with zip and button fastening.
  • Six pockets: two slanted front pockets, two bellows pockets with central pleat and hook-and-loop fastening, and two rear patch pockets with hook-and-loop fastening.
  • Six colours and sizes 34 to 60.

👷 Suitable for

  • Installations, plumbing and electrical work: lots of time squatting.
  • Industrial maintenance and technical service.
  • Construction and refurbishment work in summer.
  • Gardening and municipal services.
  • Any job where rigid shorts end up tearing at the crotch.

📋 Technical data

  • Fabric: stretch, 46% cotton - 38% EME - 16% polyester, 240 g/m²
  • Waistband: elasticated
  • Seams: double safety stitching
  • Pockets: 6
  • Sizes: 34 to 60
  • Colours: black, dark blue, white, grey, sand beige and navy blue

🧺 Care

  • Machine wash at 40°. Don't go up to 60°: high heat shortens the life of the elastic fibre.
  • Close the hook-and-loop fastenings before washing.
  • Air dry. The tumble dryer is what degrades a stretch fabric most.
  • Iron at medium temperature, never high.

💡 Tip: A stretch fabric is ruined by heat, not by use. If your company sends its clothing to an industrial laundry that washes at 60° and tunnel-dries, these shorts will lose elasticity within a few months and end up baggy at the knees. In that case the 344 shorts or the 103007 in 65/35 twill are the better choice, as they withstand that treatment without flinching. Stretch is for clothing washed at home or on a gentle programme.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the S in the reference mean?

That the fabric is stretch, i.e. elastic.

What is the composition?

46% cotton, 38% EME and 16% polyester, at 240 g/m2, according to the Velilla data sheet.

Is it thicker than the 344 shorts?

Yes. 240 g/m2 versus 200 g/m2, and it is also elastic.

At what temperature should it be washed?

At 40 degrees. Above that, the elastic fibre degrades.

Can it withstand industrial laundering?

It is not designed for it. If clothing is washed at 60 degrees and tunnel-dried, the 344 shorts or the 103007 in twill are the better choice.

Can it go in the tumble dryer?

Better not. It is what degrades a stretch fabric most.

What sizing does it use?

Trouser sizing, from 34 to 60.
