Velilla 535205 100% cotton healthcare scrub top: no polyester at all
The only scrub top in the catalogue made of 100% cotton, in 190 g/m² twill. It is chosen for two specific reasons: when there is a risk of sparks or radiant heat, because cotton chars whereas polyester melts and sticks to the skin, and when the wearer does not tolerate synthetic fibres.It is sold as a single item: trousers are not included. The matching trousers, also in pure cotton, are reference 533005.

Wash at 60 °C. Cotton tolerates higher temperatures than elastane blends.
Shrinks more than blends: pure cotton loses some size in the first wash.
It creases easily and needs more ironing than a scrub top with polyester.
It takes longer to dry than synthetic blends.
Being white 100% cotton, it tolerates bleaching agents better than polyester.
💡 Tip: Order one size up from your usual one. Pure cotton shrinks considerably more in the first wash than a 65/35 blend, and on a scrub top this is especially noticeable in body length and sleeve length. If you are buying for a team, mention it before taking sizes: it is the number one cause of exchanges in the first month with pure cotton garments.
