Velilla 534020S (IVY) GRS PureStretch healthcare cap: with loops for your mask
The cap from Velilla's sustainable range, and the only one in the catalogue with the feature most appreciated on a long shift: side loops to hook the mask's ear loops onto, so they don't pull on your ears. GRS certified, with recycled polyester from three bottles per garment, PureStretch 360º fabric, SilverPlus antibacterial treatment and an inner terry sweatband at the forehead that absorbs sweat.
✅ Features
Side loops for the mask: the elastic loops hook onto the cap instead of your ears. After six or eight hours wearing a mask, that difference is what separates a normal working day from ear pain that forces you to improvise fixes with elastic bands and clips.
Inner terry sweatband at the forehead: absorbs sweat and stops it running into your eyes or onto the work area.
GRS certified: the Global Recycled Standard certifies the recycled content of the textile and audits the entire supply chain through an independent body. It is documentation you can submit in tenders with environmental criteria.
Recycled polyester from three bottles per garment.
Elastic back and contrast adjustable ties: hold the hair back without squeezing the forehead.
SilverPlus antibacterial and repellent finish: less odour between washes and splashes that run off.
Eight colours to match the 533020S trousers and the 533021S jogger.

🧺 Care
Wash at 60 °C, the temperature confirmed by the manufacturer.
Do not use fabric softener: it cancels out the repellent finish.
Tumble dry at medium or low temperature to preserve the elastane.
Do not use chlorine bleach.
It is not a sterile cap: in the operating theatre, the facility's protocol applies.
💡 Tip: If people at your facility use tape or clips at the back of the head to relieve their ears from mask elastic, this is the cap you're looking for: the loops do that job from the factory, with no makeshift fixes. It costs a few euros more than a standard healthcare cap, and the return is one less complaint at the end of every shift.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the side loops for?
For hooking the mask's elastic loops onto the cap instead of your ears. It's the factory solution to ear pain after many hours wearing a mask, and avoids makeshift fixes with clips and tape.
What is the inner terry sweatband?
An absorbent band sewn inside at the forehead that catches sweat before it reaches your eyes or the work area.
What is GRS certification?
The Global Recycled Standard certifies the recycled content of a textile and audits the entire supply chain through an independent body. It is documentation you can submit in public tenders with environmental criteria.
Is it suitable for the operating theatre?
Not as a sterile cap. In the operating theatre the facility's protocol applies, which normally requires a sterile single-use cap.
Does it withstand industrial washing at 90 degrees?
The manufacturer confirms 60 °C. At 90 °C the elastane and the antibacterial finish degrade.
Can it be sterilised in an autoclave?
No. Elastane cannot withstand steam at 121-134 °C.
Does the colour match the GRS scrubs?
Yes. It shares the fabric and the eight colours of the 533020S trousers and the 533021S jogger.
