Velilla 534001 healthcare cap: the classic fabric cap, in fifteen colours
Velilla's basic healthcare cap, in 190 g/m² polyester-cotton twill, the same fabric and the same fifteen colours as the 333 scrub trousers. It is reusable: wash it and wear it again, and at 190 g/m² it is the sturdiest cap in the catalogue. Elasticated area at the back and adjustment ties.
✅ Features
65% polyester / 35% cotton twill, 190 g/m²: the cap with the most body in the catalogue. It withstands the industrial wash cycle better than lightweight microfibres and isn't see-through.
Elasticated back: gathers the hair without squeezing the forehead, which is what makes disposable caps unbearable over a long shift.
Adjustment ties: adapts to any hair volume.
Reusable: over a year it replaces hundreds of single-use caps.
Fifteen colours: the widest colour range in the caps catalogue, matching the 333 scrub trousers.
Also for hospitality and food: it is the cap many bakeries and institutional kitchens use to keep hair tied back.

🧺 Care
Wash at 60 °C together with the rest of the uniform.
The 65% polyester gives it good dimensional stability: it shrinks very little.
Tumble dry at medium temperature; it barely needs ironing.
Do not use chlorine bleach on colours.
Suitable for industrial laundry. It is not a sterile cap and is not autoclavable.
💡 Tip: If your laundry process is tough (long cycles, hot drying, high volume), this 65/35 twill cap will last considerably longer than the 534007 microfibre or 534006S stretch caps, which have treatments and elastane that degrade with rough handling. It is the unglamorous cap that survives the process, which is why it is still the best seller in large hospitals.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does it differ from the 534007 microfibre cap and the 534006S stretch cap?
In the fabric. This one is 190 g/m² 65/35 twill, with no treatments or elastane: more body and more resistance to rough laundry handling. The 534007 is lightweight microfibre with antibacterial and repellent treatments; the 534006S contains elastane. If washing is tough, this one lasts longer.
Is it suitable for operating theatres?
Not as a sterile cap. In operating theatres and isolation areas, the facility's protocol applies.
Can it be used in kitchens or the food industry?
Yes, and it is a very common use. It keeps hair tied back and is washed daily along with the rest of the clothing.
Does it shrink in the wash?
Very little. The 65% polyester stabilises the fabric.
Can it withstand industrial washing at 90 degrees?
The manufacturer specifies 60 °C. As it has no elastane or treatments, it is the cap in the catalogue that best tolerates a more demanding cycle, but the colour suffers above 60 °C.
Can it be sterilised in an autoclave?
No. The polyester-cotton blend is not approved for autoclaving.
