Double hollow brick Zarautz

The classic brick for partitions and enclosing walls that never let you down

The Zarautz double hollow brick by Vetonek is the most versatile ceramic piece on site: it works for partitions laid flat ("a tabicón") of about 8 cm and for half-brick walls of 11.5 cm. Lightweight (1.68 kg), easy to cut and with two rows of cavities that improve insulation compared with a single-cavity partition.

✅ Advantages

  • Dual use: laid flat (≈33 pcs/m²) or half-brick (≈42 pcs/m²).
  • Lightweight and easy to handle: 1.68 kg per piece, high output per working day.
  • Double row of cavities: better thermal and acoustic performance than a single hollow brick.
  • Perfect base for plaster or mortar: rough surface with good adhesion.

🏗️ Applications

  • Interior partitions and home layouts.
  • Inner linings and facade cavities.
  • Enclosing walls for industrial units, storage rooms and garages.
  • Refurbishment and renovation.

🧮 How much do I need?

For 30 m² of partition laid flat: 30 × 33.2 ≈ 996 pcs → 2 pallets of 472 pcs (944 pcs) plus about 50 pieces; if you make a lot of cuts, order one more pallet or allow for 5% waste.

📦 Sales formats

  • Pallet of 472 pcs (14.22 m²), ≈793 kg

Pallets of up to 1,000 kg delivered by truck.

🧰 Installation

  1. Set out and mark the partition on the floor and ceiling.
  2. Lightly wet the pieces in hot weather.
  3. Lay with mortar or plaster paste, with joints of ≈1 cm, staggering the vertical joints.
  4. Check plumb and level every 3-4 courses.
  5. Finish against the slab with plaster or foam, without loading the partition.

💡 Vetonek Tip: If you want more acoustic insulation between homes, lay it half-brick and plaster both faces: you gain mass and airtightness with the same piece.
