Stretch healthcare scrub trousers with elastane
Stretch healthcare scrub trousers with elastane
Velilla 533006S stretch healthcare scrub trousers: the ones that bend with you
The stretch version of the scrub trousers. They have 4% elastane on 190 g/m² twill, and that completely changes the garment: bending down to a low bed, kneeling next to a patient or spending twelve hours on your feet no longer pulls at the seams. Sold separately: the top is not included. The matching top, in the same fabric and the same thirteen colours, is reference 535206S.
✅ Features
- 4% elastane: the fabric recovers its shape after every bend. On a twelve-hour shift with lots of bending down and standing up, it's the difference between a garment that bothers you and one you forget you're wearing.
- Adjustable elastic waist with drawstring: tighten or loosen it by hand, without relying on size alone.
- Three-compartment pocket on the right leg: keeps scissors, pen and phone apart instead of piling them together, which is how tips get broken and screens get scratched.
- Two slanted side pockets with stitched bottoms: the stitched bottom stops the pocket corner from coming apart, the first point to give way on work trousers.
- Double stitching: reinforced seams designed for the washing rhythm of a healthcare facility.
- Thirteen colours: from classic white to aubergine, navy blue or magenta pink, to colour-code departments or give the clinic its own identity.

🧺 Care
- Wash at 60 °C. Do not regularly exceed this temperature: extreme heat is what kills elastane.
- Avoid tumble drying at high temperature; elastane loses its recovery.
- Do not use chlorine bleach: it causes yellowing and attacks the elastic fibre.
- Iron at medium temperature.
- Suitable for industrial laundry on a standard 60 °C cycle with moderate drying.
💡 Tip: If your facility washes at 90 °C or dries at high temperature, don't buy stretch: the elastane degrades and within a few months the trousers go baggy at the knees and seat. For harsh industrial laundry, the 65/35 twill scrubs (reference 333) or the 100% cotton ones (533005) hold up much better. Stretch pays off when washing is at 60 °C and the job demands mobility.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the top included?
No. The 533006S is the trousers only. The matching stretch top is the 535206S, in the same fabric and the same thirteen colours.
Why does stretch matter on a twelve-hour shift?
Because in healthcare you're never still: bending down to a low bed, kneeling, moving a patient. A rigid fabric forces your body to overcome the garment's resistance with each of those movements, and over a shift that adds up to fatigue and split seams. With 4% elastane the fabric gives and recovers.
Do they withstand industrial washing at 90 degrees?
We don't recommend it. The manufacturer specifies 60 °C. At 90 °C the elastane degrades and within a few months the trousers go baggy at the knees and seat. If your laundry works at 90 °C, choose the 333 twill scrubs or the 100% cotton 533005.
Can they be autoclaved?
No. No garment with elastane can withstand an autoclave; steam at 121-134 °C destroys the elastic fibre.
Can they be tumble dried?
Yes, at medium or low temperature. A very hot dryer is, along with 90 °C washing, what shortens the life of elastane.
What's the difference from the 533007 microfibre scrubs?
The stretch version is heavier (190 versus 140 g/m²) and elastic. Microfibre doesn't stretch, but it is lighter, dries faster and has antibacterial and repellent treatments.
Which size should I order?
Your usual size. The elastane gives some leeway, so there's no need to size up for freedom of movement.
