Atienza Permeable Pavement - drains up to 234 l/min and prevents puddles

Atienza Permeable Pavement: the water drains itself away

A garden or terrace that floods after every rainfall, or a slippery pool deck, stops being just a cosmetic issue and becomes a safety one. This slab is porous throughout its entire body and offers a water flow-through capacity of up to 234 liters per minute, so water passes through the pavement instead of pooling on top.

✅ Key advantages

  • High permeability: up to 234 liters per minute of water flow-through, with no puddles or surface films.
  • Greater safety: with no standing water on the surface, the risk of slipping is greatly reduced.
  • Less slope needed: since it drains vertically, it relies far less on a slope towards drains.
  • Five colors: white, anthracite, natural grey, sand and bronze.

🏗️ Recommended applications

  • Pool decks and surrounds.
  • Terraces, patios and roof decks.
  • Gardens and green areas with poor drainage.
  • Areas exposed to heavy rainfall.

📋 Technical specifications

  • Dimensions: 50 × 50 × 3.5 cm.
  • Weight per piece: 13 kg.
  • Material: high-quality porous concrete.
  • Drainage capacity: up to 234 liters per minute.
  • Colors: anthracite, sand, white, bronze and natural grey.

🧰 Installation

  1. Excavate and prepare a 15-20 cm draining base of washed gravel; without it the slab filters through but the water stays trapped underneath.
  2. Spread a 3-4 cm layer of fine aggregate and level it.
  3. Lay the pieces leaving an open joint of 3-5 mm.
  4. Bed with a rubber mallet and check the level every few rows.
  5. Fill the joints with clean aggregate, never with fine compacting sand.
  6. Sweep dry and avoid sealing the joints with mortar.

📦 Available formats

  • 50 × 50 × 3.5 cm in white, anthracite, natural grey, sand and bronze.
  • Sold by unit or by full pallet.

💡 Professional tip: the mistake that completely defeats this product is laying it on a solid concrete slab or grouting it with mortar. The slab itself filters, but if there's a waterproof surface underneath, the water gets trapped and ends up coming back out through the joints just like on a standard pavement. Always use a draining base of washed gravel and joints filled with clean aggregate.
