Ainsa Flat Pool Coping - Stone-Textured Edge

Ainsa Flat Pool Coping: straight profile and natural stone texture

When the surround paving comes flush up to the pool shell, coping with a drip-edge profile looks out of place. This version of the Ainsa range solves that case with a flat profile only 3.5 cm thick and two widths, 30 and 40 cm, that continues the paving with no step and a texture inspired by natural stone.

✅ Key advantages

  • Flat 3.5 cm profile: sits flush with the surround paving with no step, avoiding trip hazards and dirt lines along an edge.
  • Two widths, 30 and 40 cm: the 30 cm for tight pool shells and the 40 cm when a more generous seating edge is wanted.
  • Anti-slip USRV 64, class 3: enough grip for bare, wet feet without feeling rough when seated on.
  • Inner and outer corner pieces: let you build every angle of the pool shell with factory pieces, with no mitre cuts.
  • 14.5 kg per piece: light enough for a single installer, which speeds up laying a long perimeter considerably.
  • Three tones: white, cream and pirineos, matching the rest of the pieces in the series.

🏗️ Recommended uses

  • Coping for pools where the paving comes flush with the pool shell edge.
  • Coping for outdoor spas and minimalist-line designer pools.
  • Edges of fibreglass shells and prefabricated pools.
  • Closing inner and outer angles with factory corner pieces.
  • Coping for walkable water features and ornamental ponds.

🧰 Installation

  1. Dry-lay the perimeter and place the corner pieces first; any leftover adjustment is spread across the straight pieces, never taken up at a corner.
  2. Dampen the substrate before bonding: dry coping draws the water out of the adhesive and leaves it unset.
  3. Bed with a C2 tile adhesive rated for outdoor and immersion use, using double buttering, since the flat piece has no rim to hold it in place.
  4. Mark a slope of 1.5-2% toward the outside; on such a thin piece, the slope is the only thing preventing water from running back into the pool.
  5. Leave 3-5 mm joints between pieces and an elastic expansion joint every 4-5 m and at every corner.
  6. Grout with an outdoor-rated mortar and seal the contact line with the pool shell using polyurethane.

💡 Professional tip: at only 3.5 cm thick and with no drip-edge, this piece doesn't forgive an uneven substrate: any high spot in the coping shows on the surface and becomes a breaking point. Level out the pool shell edge before bonding and always work with double buttering; an air pocket under a 3.5 cm piece is a guaranteed crack within the first season. Don't be optimistic about the slope: without that 1.5-2% fall outward, splash water carrying sunscreen and soap flows back into the pool and forces you to over-chlorinate every Monday. And order 10% extra material: the flat piece chips more easily in transport than a thicker-edged coping.

Frequently Asked Questions
