Tramontana Waterproofing Water-Repellent - Self-Cleaning Effect for Artificial Stone
Tramontana: waterproofing water repellent for artificial stone
Unprotected artificial stone absorbs water and dirt, stains and ages before its time. Tramontana is a colorless, ready-to-use surface water-repellent and waterproofing treatment that forms a self-cleaning film that repels water and dirt and ensures the piece ages well.
✅ Key advantages
Self-cleaning film: water and dirt run off instead of soaking in, and later cleaning is much easier.
Colorless: protects without changing the piece's look or tone.
Ready to use: no dilution or prior preparation needed.
Brush application: two coats until the substrate is saturated.
Ages well: delays staining, damp and surface deterioration.
🏗️ Recommended applications
Artificial stone façades and cladding.
Balustrades, pillars and boundary-wall caps.
Garden walls and low walls exposed to rain.
Chimneys and decorative artificial stone elements.
Precast concrete pavements and pool edges.

Do a test beforehand in an inconspicuous area and check the result once dry.
Protect window and door frames, glass and nearby planting.
Apply the first coat with a brush, undiluted and evenly.
Apply the second coat until the substrate is saturated. Ventilate the area and wear gloves and protective glasses.

💡 Professional tip: this product doesn't clean, it protects. If you apply it over a dirty piece or one with efflorescence, you seal the stain underneath and there's no getting it out afterward: first the descaling cleaner, then a thorough rinse, then complete drying — 24 hours minimum — and only then the water repellent. Never apply it in direct sun or with rain forecast in the next 24 hours. For balustrades, calculate by linear meter, not square meter: 1 to 1.5 liters per meter, because balusters have far more surface area than they appear to, and that's the most common miscalculation on site.
Frequently Asked Questions
